Everyman Folk Club ~ News SPONSORSHIP OF ARTISTS IN SCHOOLSWe are delighted to continue our liaison with Suffolk Folk in sponsoring Guest Artists to visit local schools. Such workshops and presentations provide specialist tuition in song, dance and related folk subjects to the children; the Everyman's aim being to promote traditional and modern folk music in Suffolk. Artists include Pete Coe; Harriett Bartlett; Sara Grey; Nancy Kerr & James Fagan; Alison McMorland & Geordie McIntyre; Sarah Morgan & Carolyn Robson; Tom Napper & Tom Bliss; Mick Ryan & Pete Harris; and Hilary Spencer & Grant Baynham. Are you involved with a school that may like to participate? If so, please contact Mary (01449 615523). GUEST LIST We hope you like the Guests booked for the next season. As always, there is a good mix of traditional and contemporary. Some Artists are new to the Everyman, and it is a pleasure to welcome some of the best UK young folk musicians - Emily & Hazel Askew, and Mawkin. Other Guests have been before, but are returning in a different guise. CHARM combines the talents of CMR with those of Mary Humphreys & Anahata. We are also pleased to see the return of Ron Taylor, last seen with Regal Slip, beautifully accompanied by Jeff Gillett. TICKET PRICES We
are delighted to be able to hold our ticket
prices for yet another year (2008 being our twelfth).
Tickets remain extremely good value, discounted to £4 for advance payment and
otherwise £5 when paid for on the door.
(There is a booking form on this web site).
Do ignore any suggestion that an act can’t be worth hearing if the ticket price is less than £7, £8, £9 or more. What a load of rubbish! We genuinely believe the Everyman offers excellent value for money – providing not only the chance to see top line guests for as little as £4, but also an inexpensive night out at a venue with a subsidised bar (baah?). So, don't be put off by our pricing - additional donations are always welcome if anyone feels they are being undercharged! MEMBERSHIP & PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENTS LICENSINGThe Everyman continues to comply with legislation. - running as a Private Members Club in a venue that has a Public Entertainments Licence. Membership is free, and only requires that each Member’s name and address details are recorded on our membership list (which is not made available to other parties). FLOOR SINGERS It is delightful that many of our guests comment on how much they enjoyed the Floor Singers during their visit to the Everyman – we all know how lucky we are to have such an incredible quantity and quality. That said, we are always seeking new volunteers so, if you would like to perform at the Everyman, please do let us know.
