Dear Everyman Member,

Future Guests

Please find enclosed details of Guests booked for the Everyman between September 2008 and May 2009.  Some are returning Artists while others will be making their first appearance at the Everyman.  As usual, there is a fair mix of traditional and contemporary.  It is a pleasure to welcome some more of the best UK young folk musicians, including Horses Brawl and Rubus.  Mick Ryan makes a welcome return, without Pete Harris this time but joined by the wonderful Paul Downes.  Yes, Belshazzar’s Feast have been before … but it was eight years ago!

Tickets and Advance Payment

Fantastic – we are still able to keep our ticket prices unchanged for yet another year!  THANK YOU VERY MUCH – due to your continued support, the Everyman remains financially stable so there is no reason to increase ticket prices.  Tickets are very good value, discounted to £4 for advance payment and otherwise £5 when paid for on the door.  Please find enclosed a couple of booking forms.  Additional forms are always available on Club evenings (and on the web site).

Membership

The Everyman continues to run as a Private Members Club at a venue with its own Public Entertainments Licence.   Membership is free, and only requires that each Member’s name and address details are recorded on our membership list – which they are if you have received this letter!  (The membership list is not made available to any other parties).  Please remember to let us know of any changes to your contact details.

Education Programme

Although Steve and I have stood down from the Suffolk Folk Committee, we are very pleased to continue our liaison with Suffolk Folk and the Big Music Nights to arrange and sponsor Guest Artists visiting local schools.  Such workshops and presentations provide specialist tuition in song, dance and related folk subjects to the children; the Everyman's aim being to promote traditional and modern folk music in Suffolk.  This year Derek Gifford, Robert Harbron & Emma Reid, and Alison McMorland & Geordie McIntyre will all be working in schools whilst visiting the Everyman. If you are involved with a school that may like to participate, please contact me.

Floor Singers

We have had another year of Guests commenting on how much they have enjoyed the Floor Singers during their visit to the Everyman, as have we all.  We carry on being very lucky to have such an incredible quantity and quality.  That said, we are always seeking new volunteers so, if you would like to perform at the Everyman, please do let us know.

We hope you are having a lovely Summer – and look forward to seeing you in the Autumn.

Best wishes,
Mary
