Review - Ken Wilson & Jim McFarland
27/10/17

Ken Wilson & Jim Mac Farland gave us an interesting evening of unaccompanied songs from the North East and Northern Ireland at the Everyman Folk Club on Friday. As well as traditional songs learned from source singers such as Tony Rose (Ken), Eddie Butcher and Paddy Tunney (Jim) we were treated to more recent songs including Palaces of Gold and Both Sides of the Tweed. Thank you both – we hope the rest of your travel arrangements were less horrendous!

Many thanks to all our floor spots for their fine contributions to the evening – Irene Shettle, John Robinson, Gaby MacFarland, Christine Wilson, and the lads and lass of Capstan Full Strength.

Thanks as well to everyone in our lovely audience for your continued support of the club, and for welcoming our guests and new visitors.

See you next month, Friday 24 November, when we are excited about presenting a wonderful trio of familiar faces, Makepeace – Paul Hutchinson, Carolyn Robson & Kevin Dempsey.
