Review - Makepeace
24/11/17

We had a delightfully enriching and convivial evening at the Everyman Folk Club on Friday with new trio, Makepeace. Carolyn Robson’s exceptionally warm voice was augmented by Kevin Dempsey's apparently effortless guitar accompaniments and complemented by the imaginative depth of Paul Hutchinson’s accordion playing. The combination of these three fine performers was masterful, and the choice of songs and tunes was both evocative and entertaining. Thank you all so much for a terrific night.

We also enjoyed songs and monologues from our entertaining floor performers: Pris Forrest & Marya Parker, Philip Lyons, Charlie Haylock, Dave Tricker & Terence Blacker. Many thanks to all.

It was wonderful to have such a huge turnout on a cold and frosty evening for the last Everyman evening of 2017. Thanks to our audience as always – for supporting the club and, of course, for singing so enthusiastically.

We wish everyone the best of the season, and look forward to seeing you next year, when Dave Webber & Anni Fentiman are our guests on Friday 26 January 2018
