Review - Steve Turner
25/11/22

Exquisite singing, sophisticated accompaniments, and intricate tunes from Steve Turner at the Everyman Folk Club on Friday evening. Steve’s accomplished arrangements underpinned his interpretations of thought-provoking songs. His rendition of The Snowy Breasted Pearl was particularly captivating, and Sullivan’s Farewell proved to be a real tearjerker. Thank you, Steve, for a sensational end to 2022.

(For those who were asking about our guest’s concertina … it’s a modified 64-key Wheatstone English bass/baritone/tenor Aeola in high pitch, made in 1929).

Thanks to all our entertaining floor performers – Steve, Peter Everson, Robin Pooley, Matthew Robertson, Charlie Haylock, and Dave Tricker & Steve Lilley. Well done all.

We’re very grateful to our marvellous audience for braving the elements, and coming out to the club - despite the World Cup match and Strictly! We wish you all the very best of the season, and are looking forward to seeing you when we return next year – on Friday 27 January 2023 – with The Wilsons as our guests.
